What Do We Do?

The Southport Writers’ Circle has been going since 1971 when the illustrious Joan Nicholson started a group whose purpose was the encouragement of writing in every form.

Since then our goal remains unchanged but our membership has become increasingly diverse, welcoming experienced and amateur writers alike, drawing on poets, prosewriters, playwrights, article smiths, novelists, and many other nuanced forms of the written word.

Should you wish to join us, know that we are a friendly and welcoming bunch and all we ask of you is that you are a writer who is willing to listen to critique and always strive to polish and share your work.

Please check our current meeting details on the Contact Us page and feel free to send us an email should you want to know more.

We do not insist you read the first time (unless you want to) but we encourage you to pop in and have a taste of what we have to offer.

We look forwards to seeing you!

  1. Hi,

I live in London at the moment but will be moving to Southport at the end of December. If you are still looking for a tutor then, I’d be very interested.
